The file consists of a large number of records in ASCII text format, so you can open it and examine it in Notepad. Each record contains a number of fields (typically seven or eight) separated by commas. Text fields are in double quotes. Most numeric fields are in scientific notation, (e.g., 1.23400E+02 means 123.4), but integers are usually stored as integers.
