When the Syncsort Capacity Management Portal and the SQL Server are on different machines IIS will present a user name of domain\machinename$ to access the SQL Server. This is a “machine account” in that it is the name of the Windows machine running IIS (not SQL Server), suffixed with a $ sign.
You must grant this machine account access to the SQL Server database where your Syncsort
Capacity Management data is located.
- Make sure the Login is created using Windows Authentication (No other

- Then add a New User to the security settings of the database.
Make sure it’s a Windows user and use the same
