Syncsort Capacity Management ES/1 is software provided by Precisely that can add powerful analysis and reporting to SMF and other data. It processes much of the same data as Acquire so to avoid having to process data twice, a program is provided that can reduce processing time.
If the ACQES1 program is run, it will read SMF data and pass records to both Acquire and CPEDBAMS, the ES/1 data preparation utility. You need to provide JCL that has both programs DDNAMEs in. See the sample JCL and parameters for a PARALLEL run for details.
Warning: You cannot use parallel processing if you are dynamically allocating the //SMFDATA file. See the description of the The DYNAGDG= and DYNADSN= facilities parameter for full details.
