The HP OpenView (HPOV) - Syncsort Capacity Management interface provides a mechanism for importing performance data captured by HP’s OpenView product to a Capacity Database.
The interface relies on the existence of data files exported from HPOV and located in a specific directory which is accessible to the Syncsort Capacity Management Control Center. These files are the picked up, relevant metrics extracted and processed into the Capacity Database, from where they can be reported on using Syncsort Capacity Management reporting functionality.
The HPOV data is collected and processed in accordance with Collection Profiles defined against the HPOV Targets created in the Syncsort Capacity Management System Manager as explained below.
The HPOV interface has been developed against HP OpenView 4.50. Alternative versions of HPOV are not supported by the interface.
The interface only currently delivers performance information captured by HPOV for HP-UX and AIX target types. The functionality will be extended for additional target types and HPOV versions in future versions of Syncsort Capacity Management.
