This section describes the Windows user privileges required for installing, running and administering Syncsort Capacity Management Job Scheduler (JS). All Syncsort Capacity Management applications connect to the Capacity Database using Windows Authentication for SQL Server. Therefore, you must install all components on the same domain or there must be a trust relationship between the domains.

Job Scheduler Service

The account running the service needs to have the following permissions:
  • Log on Locally and Logon as a Service (this will be granted during the installation process)
  • Access to the database via Windows Authentication
  • db_datawriter on the database
  • If the SQL server is on the same machine, then the “Local System” account can be used to run service. A Windows login to SQL Server needs to be defined for <DOMAIN>\<COMPUTERNAME>$, where COMPUTERNAME is the name of the system where Control Center is running.
