In these instructions, we are upgrading a 64-bit Acquire for Windows version 11.00 to version 11.10.
Note: The same process applies to all types of Acquire for Windows including 32-bit versions which will upgrade to 64-bit, and all Acquires for UNIX/Linux. All Acquires must be at version 7.50 or later.
- Open the System Manager.
- Click the Tools menu > Acquires to open the Syncsort Capacity Management Acquire Versions dialog:
- Click Upload and navigate to where you have saved the relevant AutoUpdate for Acquire file.
- Choose the file that is appropriate to the target you want to update (this example uses AcqUpdat.exe, which is a 64-bit Acquire for Windows), and then click Open.
- Click Upload to put a copy of the Acquire into your Capacity Database.
Open up your chosen target and expand the Acquire Details panel. You should see that there is an available update in the Host Target Details section, as shown here:
Click Update to see the available options:
If necessary, select the update, then click OK.
In the Acquire Details section, the message will change to An Acquire update has been requested.
- Click Save to proceed. If you click Back, you can choose to not install the update.
- Now you can monitor the \Work\Outdirectory for the target number
of the system you are updating, and you may briefly see these files. (Note that this
is a Windows System):
- When the files have been transferred, they will be processed by the Acquire task on the target and the software will be updated. Note that the status will change to “An Acquire update is in progress”, as shown here.
When data has been retrieved from the target, the update will be set as complete, and the Syncsort Capacity Management Acquire version field will display the version of the new Acquire, as shown here:
