  2. Click Next.
After a further welcome screen confirming that the Portal will be installed, if an earlier version of the Portal is currently installed, the following message will be displayed:
  3. Click Next to have the currently installed version removed before this install continues. Or click Cancel to abort the installation.
  4. If the installation of the Portal is continued, it requires the following information:
Figure 2. Web Service Installer - Web site details

    • Virtual directory name: A friendly name, or alias, for a physical directory where the Portal web site will be held. This defaults to Portal.

Note: If you choose a different virtual directory name, then the Application Pool name, Application Name, Installation Directory Name, and the URL will change to the new virtual directory name. Also, if the SQL Server is on the same machine as the Syncsort Capacity Management Portal, the SQL server user login will need to use the chosen virtual directory name.
    • Web Server Name: The name of the Web server that is going to host the Portal application. Note: The installer assumes that the Portal will use the default port of 443 (default secure port). If a different port number is required, this can be appended to the name of the web server, with the format <Web Server Name>:<Port Number> (for example, capserver:44301).
  5. Once you have entered the required details, click Next.
Figure 3. Web Service Installer - Select SSL Certificate

  6. Select an SSL Certificate and provide the password for it. If a SSL Certificate is not available, follow the steps in Generating a self-signed certificate file to create a self-signed certificate and then select it.
  7. Once the SSL certificate has been selected and password entered, click Next.
Figure 4. Web Service Installer - Destination Folder site

  8. Choose the destination folder into which the Portal installs. By default this is C:\Program Files (x86)\Syncsort Capacity Management Portal Web Site, but can be changed as necessary.
  9. Once the destination details have been entered, click Next.
  10. At this point, you need to confirm whether the install should restart IIS as part of the install process.
Note: Administrator privileges are required for the installer restart IIS.
Figure 5. Web Service Installer - IIS restart confirmation

IIS must be restarted to allow the Portal to use the Application Initialization settings, but it can be restarted at a later date. If you need (or want) to restart IIS yourself, leave the checkbox unchecked.
  11. Click Next.
Figure 6. Web Service Installer - Portal web address

This screen confirms the name of the website where the Portal will be installed, and shows the URL that can be used to access the Portal.
  12. Click Next to commence the installation process.
  13. Once the install is complete, see:
