Figure 1. Syncsort Capacity Management Installer – Specify Core Account Information

Specifying the account details

  1. When installing the Syncsort Capacity Management Core and/or Control Center services, the user or system account under which they will run must be specified. There are two main options:
  2. Choose whichever option is appropriate in your environment and click Next.
  3. If you are using a different account for the Scheduler, choose the appropriate options and click Next.
    Additional notes
    • It is important to note, that the Control Center and other Core services need direct access to the SQL Server database. When using Local System or Network Service account, it is necessary to create a Windows login to SQL Server for <DOMAIN>\<COMPUTERNAME>$, where COMPUTERNAME is the name of the system where Control Center and/or other Core services run

    • Any local account can be used if SQL Server is installed on the local machine.

    • If files are (or will be) stored on a network share, Syncsort Capacity Management Core services must run as a user that has access to this share. This applies if any Core services on one machine (for example on the Control Center machine) execute schedules that point to updateable reports or bulletins on different machines (for example the Syncsort Capacity Management Application machine(s)).

    • If a target system has its collection set up from a network share and authentication is via the Control Center account, ensure that the account is valid. If the credentials for target connections are explicit, then the only requirement for the Control Center account is that it must be authenticated by SQL Server.

  4. Select the appropriate option and click Next.
