Use the Add Target Wizard in System Manager to create the first Windows target whose data will be collected by means of FTP Push. In the steps through the Wizard:
  1. Choose Syncsort Capacity Management Acquire for Windows, and a Windows target type
  2. Do not specify WMI mode. You can set up WMI targets later, once the first Target has been successfully initialized.
  3. Normally, do not specify a target number - let System Manager assign one for you.
  4. Select the Capture and Collection profiles that you just defined, and check the boxes Capture Enabled and Collection Enabled.
  5. At the Collection Type step, specify the kind of push connection you want to use – FTP or FTPS – Initiated by Acquire (Push). You will see that FTP is marked as deprecated - the only reason for this is that it is inherently less secure than the FTPS option, and the choice of connection method is entirely yours.
  6. At the Push FTP Details step, specify the name of the computer where the Acquire is installed (i.e., the Target server name). This needs to be right - it is the name that will be written to the sysinumMap.txt file (see below) so that the Acquire on each server can obtain its correct Target Number. You should normally specify the unqualified DNS name.
  7. Save the target. Control Center will notice the Capture Enabled and Collection Enabled flags, with valid profiles, and will take action, as follows.
