This section describes the Windows and SQL Server user privileges required for installing, running and administering Syncsort Capacity Management. The equivalent information for Acquire is contained within the Acquire installation instructions.
All Syncsort Capacity Management applications connect to the Capacity Database using Windows Authentication for SQL Server. Therefore, you must install all components on the same domain or there must be a trust relationship between the domains.

Syncsort Capacity Management only uses Windows authentication to SQL Server.

The Windows and SQL Server username requirements do not apply when installing Portal and Job Scheduler.

Syncsort Capacity Management Concentrator install has a smaller set of Windows user requirements, as described in the section Installing SCM Concentrator.
