Overview

Once you have set the FTP server details for Control Center (see above), proceed as follows:
  • Create one or more standard Windows Capture Profiles, for use by your Windows targets to determine what data you will capture and how often

  • Create a Collection Profile with all three of these components: Collect, Push and Retrieve

  • Create the first Windows target that you want to work with. Ideally this should be a target that you can easily log on to so you can test and check connectivity, processing and so on. During definition of the target, specify the Capture and Collection Profiles you have just created, ensure that Capture and Collection are both flagged as Enabled and that the Connection Enabled box is ticked.

As soon as the target definition is saved, Control Center will create a folder structure under the home directory at the FTP server’s root location, and will write a default or “seeding” Capture Profile to that location.

You will then need to manually copy that Capture Profile to the Acquire, as explained later. This will allow each Acquire to communicate with the FTP server and retrieve the correct Capture Profile to configure itself.
