An Acquire in push mode uses the original password until there is a password failure when attempting to connect to the server. When this occurs, if a pending password is available the Acquire tries to connect using this new password. If this is successful the original password is discarded and the Acquire continues to use the new one. If the second attempt is unsuccessful then the Acquire continues to use the original password until another password failure occurs.
