DD SMFDATA may consist of one or several concatenated datasets. If you have obtained a CICS specific dictionary records, put the file containing the dictionary records at the front of the concatenation. The last (or only) file in the concatenation is the SMF dataset from which you want to extract reporting or modeling data. To see example JCL, refer to JCL and parameters for a COLLECT run.

If you plan to use the DYNAGDG= facility, do NOT provide an SMFDATA DD in your JCL.

DD ATHDATA is the dataset to which the Syncsort Capacity Management modeling data is written. It must be a sequential file with LRECL=1024, RECFM=VB and any convenient block size (half track is good).

The ATHDATA file must not be a member of a PDS.

The following parameters are mandatory for a COLLECT run:

RUNTYPE=COLLECT

For compatibility purposes RUNTYPE=MULTI is honored

TARGET=nnnnnnnn=ssss

Target number and SMF identifier

-or-

TARGET=nnnnnnnn=(ismf,osmf)

Target number, incoming SMF ID, outgoing SMF ID - see later

The following parameters are optional for a COLLECT run:

ALLTAPES

(no)

Specifies that all active tape drives found in the input Type 74 records will be reported on , even if their I/O rate is less than the value of the IORATE parameter, if present. Tape drives with zero I/O rate are not reported.

CICSRESPBUCK=xxx

40x0.1

Default means “40 buckets each 0.1 seconds wide"; set the CICS response time buckets, either with discrete values or a range

CICSRESPPUSH=N or Y

N

Generate FTP put and rename commands to push CICS response time data to a user-defined location

CICSTIME=E or S or D

D

Specifies if the date and time of a CICS transaction is to taken from the type 110 record that contained it , when it ended, when it started

DASD=nnn or N

N

The SMF record number of data created by Acquire/DASD

DASDOPT=xxx

YYY

Choose volume, storage group or dataset group processing

DASDSID=O or R

O

Choose how the SMF ID of Acquire/DASD records are to be set - from the Originating system or the Recording system

DB2=Y or N

Y

Default is Y; capture DB2 data or not

DB2ACC=xxxxx

NNNNN

If/how to capture DB2 accounting data

DB2ROUND=0 or 1 or 2

1

How to handle times from DB2 records

DB2TIME=D or S or E

D

What date/time to use for DB2 data, SMF, start or end

DB2USEAI=N | Y

N

Choose which userid to associate with DB2 data

DD=Y or N

Y

Specifies whether to capture DD Detail data or not

DEBUG=<string>

N

Turn on selective debugging of Acquire modules

DEVDELAY=n.nn

(none)

Force arbitrary device delay value for bad CMF data

DYNRETCT=<n>

Count of times to wait when dynamically allocation fail

DYNRETWT=<n>

N

Number of minutes to wait between failing to dynamically allocate a dataset

DYNADSN=name

(none)

Use intelligent dynamic allocation of a well-formed datasetname for //SMFDATA

DYNAGDG=name

(none)

Use intelligent dynamic allocation of a GDG for//SMFDATA

DYNALAST=<suffix>

(none)

Sets the suffix for DYNAGDG= or DYNADSN=

End date for capture if the end of the input dataset is not encountered first, for example 24AUG09 or TODAY

ETIME=hhmm

2359

End time for capture, for example 2300

EXCLUDECICS=(smfid,APPLID)

(none)

Names a CICS APPLID in a given system to be excluded from the Capacity Database

EXCLUDEDB2=(smfid,subsystem)
