A Concentrator is a Windows Service which is a special type of Syncsort Capacity Management Control Center that acts as a collection and forwarding node (HTTPS PUSH) for data being processed into the Capacity Database. Its goal is to improve security by limiting the connectivity between networks to a single pipe and enabling the Syncsort Capacity Management Cloud solution.
A Concentrator can be used when access must be restricted between the Capacity Database and machines capturing data.
On-premise – When direct access is restricted between the Capacity Database and some of the machines capturing data.
Syncsort Capacity Management for SaaS – When the data is collected on site and sent to a Syncsort Capacity Management Cloud machine for processing and reporting.
None of the Target credentials are stored within the Capacity Database, all the credentials are stored and configured on the Concentrator machine within a secure database.
