When examining soundexes, you can choose to go through every soundex listed for an attribute or only those soundexes that look suspicious.

You may find that you first need to examine entity rows and understand the context of a value before you can determine whether a value is correct or not.

Note: Soundexes are not available for numeric values and non-ASCII encoded data.

Examine soundexes

To examine soundexes

  1. In the Navigation View, click the Discover bar, then click the Entities tab.
  2. Expand the entity with which you want to work.
  3. Click the attribute with which you want to work.

The Summary Data View for the selected attribute opens.

  4. Click the Content Summary tab and click Soundexes Distribution.

The Top 5 Soundexes pie chart displays, showing the 5 soundexes that occur the most in the attribute, and a section that represents the total percentage of all other soundexes found, if any. (If no chart displays, the attribute has no soundexes.)

  5. Click Validity, and note the Soundex Count. (If you do not see this metadata, the attribute has no soundexes.)
  6. Click Soundex Count.

The Soundexes List View opens. (You can also click in the Top 5 Soundexes pie chart to open this List View.)

  7. Examine the Soundexes List View.
