The Customer Data Parser (CDP) process identifies and standardizes name and address data elements. It is run after the initial Transformer process in a typical name and address project. Specifying Parser inputs during project creation is optional; however, you must specify parser inputs before the Customer Data Parser process can be run.

Note: Real-time (SAP) projects require specific Parser Inputs.

Guidelines

  • Specify a maximum of ten (10) name and address lines to be used as Parser inputs.
  • The CDP allows a maximum of 100 characters for each line. If the data length is greater than 100, then it will be cut off at 100.
  • In a multi-country Name and Address project with multiple Parsers, you can do the following:
    • Specify the Parser inputs during project creation and have these settings be propagated to each country-specific, post-Router Transformer.
    • Specify different Parser inputs for each country by editing the Transformer process that precedes it.

To specify the Customer Data Parser inputs

  1. Select the attributes to be used as input to the CDP process. Use the > (Add), >> (Add all), < (Remove), and << (Remove all) options to include attributes as Parser inputs. Use >+ (Append rows) to build an address line composed of several attributes. For example, you can concatenate Frist_Name, Middle_Name, Last_Name onto one line. Click Postcard to view the Parser inputs formatted as an address block.
  2. In multi-country projects, the Parser Inputs window includes an option for specifying the Global Router country code attribute. Select the attribute that contains the two- or three-digit ISO country code. If your data does not include a country code attribute, you can leave this option blank; after project creation (before the project can be run) you must specify the attributes to be used to identify the country of origin. See Specifying Global Data Router Input Attributes.
  3. Click Next to display a project summary and create a project.
