When you create a name and address project, you must select either Transformer Unified Output or Transformer Label Lines for the final process in each flow. The Transformer Label Lines process reconstructs names and addresses from the outputs of the Customer Data Parser and Postal Matcher to generate properly formatted name and address labels.

By default, the Transformer Label Lines generates five (5) lines. The default rules can be viewed and edited under the Output Conditionals tab. The conditionals are displayed, and buttons allow you to view and edit the associated attribute scans and table recodes.

Guidelines

Use the following guidelines when you are working with the Transformer Label Lines process:

  • The Transformer Unified Output is the default process for a multi-country name and address project.
  • By default, projects that were created in the previous version will use Transformer Label Lines and new projects will use Transformer Unified Output. You can remove and replace these processes manually if necessary.
  • For the United Kingdom, a set of rules to generate 10 lines is also provided. See Changing the Label Lines Rules for the United Kingdom for details.
  • The output schema used by the Transformer Label Lines will use code pages that are specified for the original input for each country.
  • It may be necessary to edit the rules if the Parser inputs that were used do not correspond to the default inputs that were expected. For example, the default rules for the United States assume that the Parser inputs consist of INPUT_LINE_01 through INPUT_LINE_05. If the actual inputs differ from this – for example, if you have more than 5 lines, or if you have sub-fields on a line (for example, INPUT_LINE_01a and INPUT_LINE_01b instead of INPUT_LINE_01) – then you need to modify the rules.

To modify the default rules

  1. From the Navigation or Project View, right-click the Transformer Label Lines process and select Edit Process. You can also double-click the process to open it for editing.
  2. Select the Output Conditionals tab. The default conditionals settings are displayed in the Output Conditionals section window. You can modify or specify the following settings from this window:
