If you have attribute values that are wider than the current resolution can display, you can open the contents of individual cells in a List View and view them in a separate windows. The window allows you to search for specific text in the value, change text size to better visualize the contents, and copy text into another application. You can also add values to a Word Definition table in the Library.

Display Wide Value in a List View

To display wide value in a List View

  1. Open a Data Rows List View.
  2. Select the row you want to display.
  3. Right-click and select Show wide value or click the Wide Value icon on the List View tab. The Details View window opens. Verify that the entire content of the value displays.
  4. (Optional) Select the text size in the drop-down list. Default is 100%. You can resize the Details View by clicking and dragging the borders of the window.
  5. (Optional) Select another row and click Update. This newly selected row value is now displayed in the Details View window.

  1. Click the title bar of the Details View.
  2. Drag to any position, inside or outside of the Control Center.

Docking a view window means to attach it to a particular part of the List View.

  1. Click the title bar of the Details View.
  2. Drag it to the edge where you want to dock it, and drop it onto one of the small squares that appear in the List View. The portion of the square in blue indicates where the window will be docked.

Search Specific Text

To search specific text

  1. In the search box, enter the text you are searching for and click Find or press Enter. The window displays the text you searched for in red. It also displays a message at the bottom about how many matches were found.
  2. Click Next to find the next instance of the search text and Prev to go back to the previous text.

Copy Text

To copy text

  1. In the Details View window, select the text you want to copy and click Copy.
  2. Paste the copied text into your text editor or another application.

Close the Details View

Click the close icon () in the upper right corner of the Details View window.
