When you install Trillium, the install program creates a repository server in a location designated by the application administrator. A repository server remains empty until you or an administrator adds a repository. A repository server can have multiple repositories, each one containing different types of data and connecting to different data sources. Each repository server has its own group of users, loader connections, and security and performance settings. These are all managed using the Repository Manager tool.

A repository is a container for the data you want to analyze or process using Trillium. You must create at least one repository for each repository server, but you can create as many repositories as you choose within the same repository server. Repositories can be created by any person who has administrative access to the Repository Manager tool. This person, who is referred to as a repository administrator, also manages the repository server installed on your system.
