You can specify more options to optimize the results of the Postal Matcher.

To specify KR Postal Matcher advanced options

  1. From the Postal Matcher Options window, click Advanced. The Postal Matcher Process Settings window displays. If you are unable to view the Advanced button, expand the window until the button is displayed.
  2. In some cases, you might need to build address blocks comprising address elements, and then build a mailing address line consisting of those address blocks. In this case, you need to specify Mailing Address line 1 - 3 rules. See Specifying Mailing Address Line Rules for details.
  3. Select one of the options from the Control changes list to specify how the Postal Matcher handles Level 1-4 and postcode. See Specifying Control Changes for details
  4. Select If no Level 2, use Level 1 as Level 2, or, If no Level 3, use Level 1 as Level 3.
  5. If you select Search unknown tokens if Level 1/2 does not match postcode, the unknown tokens will be searched for another Level 1 or Level 2 item that matches the postcode.
  6. If you want to look for a postcode in the address line, select Check address line for postal code.
  7. Select a Minimum score for a spelling change to match at Level 1-4 from the table. In all of the minimum score settings, the Hangul is converted into Jamo, and a spell check is performed on the Jamos.
  8. If you want to perform a Level 4 matching, select Perform a Level 4 match.

This option makes use of two different word pattern entries. It will be invoked when there is a Level 4 entry that does not match the other geographical entries. Note the following guidelines:

    • When the Definition tables are built, a lookup table is created for the entries where the Level 4 consists of a prefix and a suffix from the Word Pattern file.
    • The prefix table is first examined to see if there is a match.
    • Different combinations of prefixes and suffixes are tried to see if a match can be found within the Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 entries that have already been determined.
    • This feature is used to resolve discrepancies when a different name than the one recognized by the post office is used for a particular building.
  9. Select Administrative or the Legal addressing convention to Specify how Postal Matcher output will be displayed.
  10. If you want to separate Level 4 into building names and street names, select Separate Level 4 into building names and street names. If selected, if the Level 4 ends with "Ri (street)," it goes to the pr_level4 attribute and puts the other Level 4 items in the pr_building_name attribute.
  11. If you want to populate mailing address output with street-based address, select Populate mailing address output with street formatted address. When this option is selected, pr_addr_mail is constructed with pr_addr_mail1 + pr_addr_mail3 instead of pr_addr_mail1 + pr_addr_mail2. See Default Mailing Address Line Rules.
  12. Click Back to return to the Postal Matcher Options window.
