The Set Selection utility lets you select records based on match keys created during the linking process to evaluate a set (or group) of matching records. A selection process then filters out only the selected records to an output file.

Note: Input attributes are used as the match key.
Note: The Set Selection utility is designed for batch only and cannot be deployed in a real-time environment. If a real-time project includes the Set Selection process, the process will be excluded when the project is deployed for use in real time.

The Set Selection utility is designed to be used for a set of data rows/records as input, and individual rows as output. (Individual rows can also be used as input depending on your needs.) You can specify Input and Output Settings such as the maximum number of records to be selected, minimum number of records per match key set to be selected, and an output row filter to select certain flagged records.

To insert/add and run the Set Selection utility

  1. Expand your project in the Navigation View.
  2. To open the Create Process window, do one of the following:

To add the utility to a new workflow for the selected records:

    1. Expand the Entities folder.
    2. Select the output entity off of which you want to add the utility.

  6. (Optional) Customize the utility by configuring input and output settings and conditions. For information about Set Selection functions, see Expression Builder Functions for Sets of Records.

  8. Run the process now or schedule the process to run later.
