You can change the default settings for the following List View options:

  • Highlighting. By default, when you click a cell in List View, only that cell is highlighted. If you prefer, you can change the default so that when you click a cell, the entire row is highlighted.
  • Column widths. By default, column widths are sized to fit the widest data value in the column. If you prefer, you can change the default so that column widths are based on the size of the column label.
  • Background task updates. By default, when you display the Background Tasks View, the display is automatically updated as the status of tasks changes. If you prefer, you can enable a static display of the Background Tasks View.
  • Automatic refresh behavior. By default, when you click the Refresh button,  the application restores the original List View display (before you reorganized it) without updating the data. If you prefer to have the application automatically update the data in the List View, you can change the default.

To change one of the List View options

  1. On the Advanced tab, click Options. The Options window opens, displaying the Environment options.
  2. In the Navigation View, click List View. The List View options window opens.
  3. Make the changes you want and do one of the following:
    • Click Apply to save and apply the changes and leave the window open.
    • Click OK to apply the changes and close the window.

    The changes you made take effect immediately and remain in effect until you change them again. The changes apply to all  List Views.
