The Postal Matcher uses the output from the Sort Utility process as input to this process. From the Options tab you specify how you want the DE Postal Matcher to process your data.

To specify DE Postal Matcher options

  1. From the Navigation or Project View, right-click the de Postal Matcher process and select Edit Process.
  2. Select the Options tab. The de Postal Matcher Options window displays.
  3. If you want to move PO box information to the street name attribute even when a street name is present on the record, check the Move PO Box into Street Name check box.
  4. Specify How streets should be matched to the postal directory. Options are: Exact match required, Match against likely street candidates, and Match against all streets in city.
  5. Click the Data encoding drop-down list and select the encoding used for the input data. The default encoding is Latin1. See Encoding for details.
  6. If you want to use an attribute for the input district name, click the Attribute containing district name drop-down list and select the attribute. Including an input district name helps in cases where more than one district is valid for an address.
