User security and access permissions are set on a repository-by-repository basis in the Repository Manager. At the Control Center level, you can make modifications to the access permissions established in the Repository Manager depending on the type of authentication established for your site.

There are two types of security authentication available:

  • Windows Authentication. Allows users permission to read, create, modify, execute, delete, and export projects, entities, business rules, and Business Rules Library objects in one or more repositories. To set permissions using Windows Authentication, see Using Windows Authentication.
  • Trillium Authentication. Allows users full or limited permission to entities in the Control Center on a repository-to-repository basis. Full users can view all entities in a repository. Limited users can view only the entities they have created or entities that other users give them permission to view. If a limited user is not granted access to an entity, he will not see any object involving that entity. To set permissions using Trillium Authentication, see Using Trillium Authentication Security.
Note: Check with your Trillium repository administrator if you are not sure what type of authentication is being used or what permission level you have.

Disabled Access to your Local System

Trillium administrators have the option to disable your ability to copy to your local file system from the Control Center or use data in the Control Center that is stored locally. This is a security precaution that ensures that you read and use data from a repository only and write data back to that repository only, thus maintaining data integrity. When your Trillium repository administrator enables the Disable access to file system option for your environment, the following occurs:

  • New, Open, Save Session and Save as session options from the Application menu are disabled.
  • Export to local system and import from local systems are disabled (for projects, business rules, ignore words tables and so on).
  • Create entity from client is disabled.
  • Access to documentation is disabled.
  • Export and Generate Schema option for an entity is disabled.
  • Import for TS Quality projects and the option to Generate DDL for TS Quality entities are disabled.
  • In the Library, the export to local file system and import from local file system are disabled for Business Rules, Word definitions, and Ignore words tables.
