Transforming Business Data Parser Attributes - trillium_discovery - trillium_quality - 17.1

Attribute transformation is an optional process that allows you to create attribute rules during the Transformer process. It is also available in the BDP, eliminating the need to return to the Transformer for additional attribute customization.

To add a new attribute transformation

1. From the Navigation or Quality Project View, right-click the Business Data Parser process and select Edit Process. The BDP editing window opens.
2. Click Input Conditionals. The Input Transformations window displays.
3. Right-click in the window's right pane and select Add > New > Attribute Transformation. The Set Attribute window displays.
4. In the Description field, enter a description for this transformation rule.
5. Click the Set attribute drop-down list and select an attribute you want to transform.
6. To create the rule expression, do one of the following:
   • Use the Expression Builder tool: To the right of the to expression field, click the build expression button (). The Set Attribute to Expression window opens. Enter the expression elements in the text field. Click OK.
   • Enter the expression elements directly into the to expression field.

   Literal values must be enclosed with double quotations. For information and examples, see Set attributes using the Expression Builder.

7. Click Finish to save your settings. The rule displays in the right window.
8. (Optional) To make rule edits or deletions, right-click the row and select Edit... or Delete. For more information, see Editing Transformation Rules.
9. (Optional) To create a duplicate version (essentially a clone) of a rule, right-click in the window's right pane and select Add > Existing. Select the rule you want to duplicate and click Add. For more information, see Reusing Transformation Rules.
10. (Optional) To set a condition that applies to the rule, right-click the conditional in the left pane and select Edit. The Edit Condition window opens.
