You can use a Power BI dashboard to visualize data. Users with administrator privileges can add a Power BI dashboard to Data360 Govern by importing a .pbix Power BI Desktop file.

To ensure that your data remains up to date, you need to periodically re-upload the .pbix Power BI Desktop file to Data360 Govern. Power BI dashboards published in Data360 Govern only display data from the imported .pbix file. The dashboard data is only refreshed when you upload an updated .pbix file.
  1. Go to Administration > Dashboards, then click the Add button.
  2. In the New Report screen, configure these values:
    • Report Type - Select PowerBI.
    • Name - Enter a valid, unique name for the dashboard.
    • Target Type - Select the Data360 Govern asset that the dashboard relates to. The dashboard will be displayed on pages for the asset or asset instance that you select. You can only select one item per dashboard. If you select an asset 'instance', the dashboard will display on all assets of the selected asset type. If you select an asset type, the dashboard will display on the asset list page.
    • Show on Home Page? - Select to display the dashboard on the home page.
    • Restrict Visibility To - Only available when Show on Home Page? is not checked. Choose the responsibility types that will be able to view the dashboard. The responsibilities that are listed depend on the asset that is selected as the Target Type. You can specify one or more responsibility types by checking the box next to each responsibility, or select and deselect all the listed responsibility types by checking the box next to the search bar.

If you do not select any responsibility types, all users can view the dashboard.

    • File - Browse to and select the .pbix Power BI Desktop file that you want to use for your dashboard.
    • Description - Optionally, enter a description for the dashboard.
  3. Click Save.
