Navigation bar

The navigation bar on the left of the screen is the primary means to navigate the user interface.

  • Some navigation bar items represent a single asset type. Click one of these items to go directly to the corresponding page.
  • If an item contains a submenu or child items, an arrow is displayed next to the name. For each menu item, a count of the number of assets is displayed.
  • Expand or collapse the navigation bar by using the Toggle full width navigation button at the bottom of the bar.
  • You can filter the items that are displayed in a submenu by typing in the Search menu box.
  • You can hide any empty collections that display in a menu by clicking the Hide empty collections button, positioned to the right of the Search menu field. Empty collections that contain child collections with content are still displayed.

The collapsed, expanded and hide/show empty collections state of menu items, is preserved during your Data360 Govern session.

If there are items in the navigation bar for which you do not have read permissions, these items will not be available to select.

Note: The user interface is highly customizable. The items that are visible to you depend on the settings that have been established by your administrator.

Navigation bar items:

  • Home - Links to the home page.
  • Favorites - The Favorites list contains links to any pages that you have added as your favorites, by clicking the star-shaped Add to Favorites button in the relevant page's header bar. In general, each item in the list consists of:
    • The asset or object icon and the defined name, together with the name of the tab with which it is associated.

    • The asset class, followed by the asset path or asset type path, if relevant.

If a search results page is included in the Favorites list, the first line displays the search criteria in quotes, while the second one states "Search Results".

Newly added favorites display at the top of the list.

  • Business Assets - All business assets that have been defined for your organization.
  • Technical Assets - All technical assets that exist in your system.
  • Models - A hierarchical classification for grouping a set of business assets. Models are typically broken down by business function, for example Human Resources and Finance.

The current asset type is highlighted in the list. When you hover over the menu icon in the compact view, the breadcrumb hierarchy is displayed.

If you have shortcuts set up on your browser, verify the URL to be sure of which page you will be taken to.
