  1. Go to the relevant asset type page, for example, Business Asset types, Technical Asset types, Rules, Models or Policy types.
  2. Click the Add filter token, positioned below the Search field.
A list displays, showing these categories:
    • Asset Fields
    • System Fields
    • Relationships
Note: The categories do not display for Rule Results or Change Log filters. The Search Results page has Name, Description, Asset Path and Tags categories.
The fields within each category vary according to the list that is being filtered.
  3. Select the appropriate field from the list.

A new token, with the name of the field that you selected is added to the Filter field, to the left of the Add filter token, with a value of Any. A dialog is also displayed, with an operator selection field, and either one or more value fields, or a list of additional filter values.

When filtering a list of model or policy types by Level, only the child asset items are returned, along with their asset path. Results are not shown in a hierarchy.

  4. Select an operator.
The available operator values and filter options vary depending on the type of field selected and its function in the list. For example, if you select a Boolean type field, the operator choice may be is True, or is False, with no value field available. If you select a Name field, there may be several operators to choose from, as well as a field to enter the appropriate value.
Note: If you want to use a value such as 10 in a decimal field, you should use operators that allow a range of 9.99 to 10.01 to be specified. For example 'greater than' and 'less than'.
Note: When applying an operator to relationship types, note that the "contains" operator displays assets with the defined relationship, and the "does not contain" operator displays assets without the defined relationship. Wild card searches, such as partial relationship names, are not supported.
  5. Enter an appropriate value in the field or fields, or select the appropriate filters, then click Update filter.
Note: When using a numeric or decimal field for filtering, any minimum or maximum limit that was set during its configuration still applies. If you select an inappropriate value, the field turns red, the Update filter button is disabled, and a field message displays the appropriate value or range.
Tip: To choose all filters, check the box to the left of Search list.
Tip: Depending on your selection, Match all and Match any radio buttons may be displayed. Select the one that is required. If the list only allows a single selection, you can select multiple items, but only Match any can be selected.
To delete the filter at any time, click the Remove filter button, which is displayed on the relevant token.
Note: If the field that you selected in Step 3 is set to persist in filters in the Fields, then it will always be displayed within the filter field for this asset type. As a result, no Remove filter button will be available, and the filter cannot be deleted, unless the Fields settings are changed accordingly.

To modify a filter, click the token.

If you configure more than one filter, a More... menu button displays. Click More... to choose from:
  • Clear Filters - Removes all non-persistent filters.
  • Match All - All filters must be matched.
  • Match Any - Any filter must be matched.
