To identify matching records, Trillium Quality for Dynamics compares the data in specific fields to determine the level of similarity between them. When a new record is entered, Trillium Quality for Dynamics:
Constructs window keys for the new record and determines if any existing records have the same window key(s), making them match candidates.
Sends records with the same window key(s) to the matcher, which compares the data.
Direct and indirect (inferred) matches are identified by the matcher. Direct matches are assigned a numeric Pattern ID. Indirect matches are not given a Pattern ID; they will be identified with the word “Link.”
Each of the matching steps is described in the following sections.
Note: This appendix describes matching during real-time data entry. Determining matches using the Standard Batch Manager or during a data import is similar, but all database records are compared in one process.
