In addition to direct matches, Trillium Quality for Dynamics also evaluates records for indirect matches. An indirect match is one in which two records are not directly related, but are each related to a third record, making them indirectly related. That relationship is not given a numeric Pattern ID. Instead, the word “Link” is used to identify that relationship.
Consider the following example:
In this example:
-
Record #5’s name and address matches the driver (the current record), so it is a match.
-
Record #3 matches the name in the driver, but does not match its address or e-mail so it is not a direct match.
-
Record #3’s e-mail address matches Record #5’s e-mail address, therefore there is an indirect match (a link) between Record #3 and the driver.
Trillium Quality for Dynamics identifies this “link” and includes Record #4 on the Duplicates window.
