After all evaluations are complete, each relationship between the new record and each potentially matching record is assigned a Pattern ID. The records are added to an internal Match Link table.
The Pattern ID assigned to each relationship between records represents the reason that the records were considered a match. Direct matches, where there is a direct relationship between one record and another, are given a numeric Pattern ID. For example, numeric Pattern IDs might include:
100 representing a match of name and address
500 representing a match between name and telephone number
506 representing a match between name and e-mail address
Matching rules and Pattern IDs are often customized using Trillium’s Relationship Linker Rules Editor, illustrated in the figure given below, which is not included with a standard Trillium Quality for Dynamics installation. If you are interested in customizing matching rules and pattern IDs, contact your Trillium Account Representative.
