You can delete data sources at any time. For example, if your repository contains data sources that are outdated or no longer required, it is good practice to delete them.

Note the following guidelines:

  • Deleting a data source in the Discovery Center permanently deletes the data source from the current repository. This action cannot be undone.
  • You cannot delete a data source (entity) that is used in a Baseline Analysis, Time Series, TS Quality, or Joins project in the Control Center. You must first remove the data source from the project before you can delete it from the repository.

To delete a data source

  1. On the navigation menu, click View Data Sources and run a search for the data source(s) you want to delete.
  2. From the Data Sources results view, select one or more data sources.
  3. Click Delete. A confirmation message opens. If any data sources you are deleting are used in projects in the Control Center, a message opens to alert you. Note the following:
    • Only those data sources not used in projects will be deleted.
    • If all selected data sources are used in projects, none will be deleted.

You must remove the data sources from the projects in the Control Center before deleting them.

  4. Click Yes. A process confirmation message opens.
  5. Click OK to close the message.
  6. Check the Task Manager to see the status of this process.
