After you select one or more data sources to associate, you must map all rule set attributes to attributes in the data source(s). Follow this procedure to add new mappings or edit existing mappings.

To map rule set attributes to data source attributes

  1. In the Add Data Source Associations to Rule Set window, click the Map tab. The Data Source Attributes list populates based on the data source selected in the Map drop-down. A data source attribute with the same name as a rule set attribute is pre-mapped, and shown with an asterisk (*) as Already in use.
  2. By default, the first data source you selected displays in the Map drop-down list. Keep the default data source or select another whose attributes you will map.
  3. In the Rule Set Attribute section, unmapped rule set attributes are shown by default.
    • To view only the mapped attributes, click Show Mapped.
    • To view all mapped and unmapped rule set attributes, click Show all.
Note: Each rule set attribute must be mapped to attributes in each data source selected.
  4. To map rule set attributes to data source attributes:
    1. From the Data Source Attributes list, drag an attribute onto a rule set attribute name to map it. The mapped value is listed in the Mapped to column. Alternatively, select an attribute in the Rule Set Attribute column. Then double-click a data source attribute to map it to the rule set attribute.
Note: A data source attribute that is already mapped will have an asterisk (*) next to its name.
    2. (Optional) Select In all Data Sources to use the same mapping for all data sources with an identical rule set attribute.
    3. Continue until all rule set attributes are mapped to a data source attribute.
  5. If you have multiple data sources, click Map Next. The Map drop-down refreshes and shows the next data source in the list. The following message displays at the bottom of the window: #n of #m Data Sources require mapping. If you have only one data source, go to Step 7.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to map all rule set attributes to data source attributes for the selected data sources. After mapping is complete, you see the message: Data Sources mapping is complete.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • Click Done to save your settings and open the Associate tab.
    • Click Cancel (or X) to close the window without saving your work.
  8. Click Summary to review all selections and to make edits as needed. Click Back or In Progress to return to the Associate tab.
  9. To save your mappings and complete the association, click Finish. A message displays noting how many data source associations will be processed.
