Now that the rows are grouped by the Lev1_Matched attribute, we will configure and run the final Relationship Linker with a level 2 settings to identify all possible matches within the level 1 matches.
To set up and run the final Relationship Linker process
-
In the project view, right-click the output of the final Sort for Linking process.
-
Click Add process branch. The Create Process window opens.
-
Select Relationship Linker from the Process selection list, select the Configure Now check box and click OK.
-
Click the Process tab and specify the following settings:
-
Attribute containing record type: PR_NAME_FORM_01 (the default)
-
Attribute contained window key: LEV1_MATCHED
-
Override record type: Consumer only
-
-
Click Advanced. The Linking window opens.
-
Click the Match Rules tab.
-
Select the Consumer level 1 rules required? and Consumer level 2 rules required? check boxes and click Back. These are the only levels that we use in this sample.
-
Click the Tools tab and then click Launch Rules Editor. The Relationship Linker Rules Editor opens.
- Specify appropriate field list and grade patterns for level 1. In this sample
project, we want the rows with the same LEV1_MATCHED to be in the same household, so
we delete all the fields and patterns for level 1 and specify them as follows: Figure 1. Field List for Level 1 (Final Relationship Linker)
Figure 2. Grade Patterns for Level 1 (Final Relationship Linker)
- Specify appropriate field list and grade patterns for level 2. In this sample project, we add the business name and the surname to the field list and add three patterns to the pattern list: P097, P098 and P099. If the business name is the same, the original given name and the surname are the same, or the recoded given name and the surname are the same, they are the same individual.
-
Select File > Save and then close the Relationship Linker Rules Editor.
-
Click Finish to save the changes you made to the Relationship Linker.
-
Run the final Relationship Linker process and review the output file. Notice that the number of matches is greatly increased compared to the first Relationship Linker.
