Performance speed and disk space usage depend on many factors such as complexity of the input data and the configuration of your Quality project. You can try these methods to optimize performance:

  • Sampling Data. Create a subset of data by customizing and/or sampling the data and use the Control Center as a testing tool, not as a production tool. By loading sample data into your project, you can minimize the processing time and lower the amount of disk space used. After the project is working to your satisfaction, export the project into a batch script. For more information, see Sampling Data.

  • Reducing Number of Attributes. Remove attributes that are not part of your Quality project. This will reduce the amount of data to process and improve performance. For more information, see Reducing Number of Attributes.

  • Optimizing Processes. Reduce load on the Quality processes by selecting “performance-enhancing” configuration options like Pipes, Minimize Disk Space option and so on. For more information, see Optimizing Processes.

  • Cleaning. Clean up the unnecessary log files, intermediary files (flat data rows), and output attributes to reduce the amount of disk space being used. For more information, see Cleaning.

  • Optimizing Batch Processing. Configure the disk and controllers to perform simple flat-file reads/writes and avoid the network. For more information, see Optimizing Batch Processing.
