Setting up a Reference Matcher project requires three entities:

  • A reference entity, representing your master database.

  • A transaction entity, representing new records to be compared with the reference entity.

  • An enriched version of the reference entity, which you will create in a later step.

While setting up the Reference Matcher project, you will use sample data to represent the records in your master database and in your transaction files. When you deploy the project, you will substitute your actual data for the sample data.

To create the reference and transaction entities

  1. Use a database tool or a text editor to create a data file containing sample records from your master database. You will use this file to create the reference entity.

  2. Use a database tool or a text editor to create a data file containing some records that match those in the reference data and some that do not match. You will use this file to create the transaction entity.

  3. If an appropriate loader connection does not exist, use the Repository Manager to create a loader connection that can be used with the two new data files.

  4. In the Control Center, click the Discover > Entities, right-click and select Create entity. Create two entities, one using your sample reference data and one using your sample transaction data. You can create a dynamic entity or click Load the data now to create a real entity.
