A real entity is a virtual copy of the physical data stored in an external data source. When you create a real entity, you actually import a copy of the repository data. All data tasks you perform reference a copy of the physical data. The original data source is not accessed or manipulated in any way.
Note: Real entities are often referred to simply as entities in the TSS documentation. In the
Control Center, an entity refers to either a real or dynamic entity depending on where
and how it is used. (A library entity is a real or dynamic entity that resides in the
Control Center Library).
