When the Reference Matcher runs, it compares the transaction records to the reference records and populates the Reference Level1 Key and Reference Level2 Key accordingly.

To check the results

  1. Drill down to the rows in the output of the Reference Matcher.

  2. Verify that the REFERENCE LEVEL1 KEY and REFERENCE LEVEL2 KEY attributes are populated.

Note: If these fields are not displayed in the List View, you can add them by right-clicking the column header and selecting Choose columns.
  • If a record in the transaction entity matches a record in the reference entity, the Reference Matcher copies a matching key number from the reference record to the transaction record (in the Reference Level1 Key and Reference Level2 Key attributes).

  • If a record in the transaction entity does not match a record in the reference entity, the Reference Matcher generates a new key number and appends it to the input record (in the Reference Level1 Key and Reference Level2 Key attributes). The new key numbers have a unique prefix to identify them. By default, the prefix is 99999.
