Similar to the second Relationship Linker, the purpose of the third Relationship Linker process is to identify records that match on Window Key 03 and to create a Link file. The Link file connects the matches identified by the first Relationship Linker to the matches identified by the third Relationship Linker.

Setting up the third Relationship Linker involves the following steps:

  • Establish settings for the Link file.

  • Tune the Relationship Linker to include the phone attribute.

To set up and run the third Relationship Linker process

  1. In the project view, right-click the output of the third Sort for Linking process.

  2. Click Add process branch. The Create Process window opens.

  3. Select Relationship Linker from the Process selection list, select the Configure Now check box and click OK.

  4. Click the Process tab and specify the following settings:

    • Attribute containing record type: PR_NAME_FORM_01 (the default)

    • Attribute contained window key: WINDOW_KEY_03

    • Override record type: Consumer only

  5. While still in the Process Settings edit window, click Advanced. The Linking window opens.

  6. Establish the following settings:

    • Type of match to write to Link file: Passes only

    • Attribute to write to Link file: LEV1_MATCHED

  7. Click the Match Rules tab and select the Consumer level 1 rules required? check box. Leave the other boxes cleared.

  8. Click Back.

  9. Click the Tools tab and then click Launch Rules Editor. The Relationship Linker Rules Editor opens.

  10. In the Field List Editor, add entries for phone, business name, and surname the same way as you did for the e-mail, business name, and surname entries for the second Relationship Linker.
When you are through, the Field List Editor should look like the one shown in the figure below.

  11. Change focus to the Grade Pattern Editor window.

  12. Create new patterns for the fields the same way as you did for the e-mail, business name, and surname entries for the second Relationship Linker.
The resulting Grade Pattern Editor window looks like the one shown in the figure below.

  13. Select File > Save and then close the Relationship Linker Rules Editor.

Note: Select OK to delete duplicate patterns when you save the file.
  14. Click Finish to save the changes you made to the Relationship Linker.

  15. Run the third Relationship Linker process and review the two output files. The Link file for the sample project is shown in the figure below.
