The External List Management application is used to load data, postal validations, and duplicate checks, and to analyze data from external list suppliers. The data can then be used to identify and develop sales leads.
Trillium for SAP is used with the CRM 2007 (6.0) and up External List Management application when it calls the standard Business Address Services (BAS) functions.
Because there is no user interaction during the Postal Validation and Duplicate Check, all records with errors are listed in the ELM Error Analysis reports and do not get passed to the next step. In other words, if a record received an invalid address error at postal validation, it is not passed to the Duplicate Check step. If a record received a potential duplicate error at Duplicate Check, it is not created and updated to the database.
