To use an SAP database for your source data, you must first map the fields in the database to the Trillium structure field (/TRILLIUM/MDLOGL) known as the Target field. (If your source data is in an external file, see Creating a Mapping Definition for an External Data Source.)

Create or change a mapping definition for a database source by either:

  • In the Trillium Master Data Inquiry window:
    1. Select the SAP DB Data Source tab.
    2. Enter the Table name of the table containing the source data.

    3. In Field Mapping, click .

      or,

  • Run the transaction /n/trillium/mdt, click on Master Data Inquiry and click on Customizing.

    After following either of these steps, the Define Database Mapping window opens.

    Note: Source structure is a user-defined name and is not necessarily the standard SAP name.
  1. Do one of the following:

    • To create a new mapping definition, in the left pane select Define Database Mapping and click . A blank Field Assignment window opens.

    • To change an existing mapping definition, in the left pane select Define Database Mapping, in the right pane select the existing source structure to be changed, and, in the left pane under Define Database Mapping, click Field Assignment. The Field Assignment window opens, showing the current field mapping.

  2. Enter or change field names to create a map between the Trillium structure fields (TRILLIUM/MDLOGL), known as Target field, and your Source (database) fields. Press F4 in the Target Field column to display a list of potential target fields.The following fields are required and must be mapped:

    Target Field Name

    Description

    OBJ_ID

    Identifier of the record (e.g., PARTNER Number of the business partner). The identifier could be used in a BADI to identify the record. If an OBJ_ID is not specified, one will be created when you run the report.

    OBJ_NAME1

    Name or description of the record. This field is used in the log viewer as name.

    OBJ_NAME2

    Additional name or description of the record.

  3. When field mapping is completed, click  to return to the Trillium Master Data Inquiry window.
