Trillium for SAP supports high-performance data enrichment services for over 240 countries. Real-time data enrichment and matching is invoked automatically whenever name and/or address information is added or modified using an SAP client application. The data that is entered or modified by the end user is sent, via a Business Add-In implemented in ABAP code, to the TS Client for SAP RFC server, which then forwards the data to various Trillium Quality servers for enrichment and matching. The results are returned to the SAP client application for appropriate processing. The below figure illustrates this process.

In a typical data entry scenario, the Cleansing server is invoked to validate and enrich the address data. The enriched data is written back to the invoking SAP dialog. If discrepancies are found in the data, a message box indicating the discrepancy is displayed to the end user. At this point, the user may accept the data as modified or elect to correct the data.

After data is validated and enriched, the Matching server is invoked to identify potential duplicate entities. If potential duplicate entities are detected, a list of the duplicates is presented to the user. The user has the option to either select an existing entity or continue adding or changing the current entity. If the user selects an existing entity, the operation on the current entity is terminated and the selected entity displays.

In addition to the real-time components provided by Trillium for SAP, a component is also available to provide data enrichment and match index generation in a batch environment. These functions are made available via the BC-BAS-PV and BC-BAS-DES quarterly update process.

Finally, as a Business Add-In at the BASIS/WAS level, the Trillium Quality system is implemented only once for availabilty to all modules in the SAP system.
