  1. If a previous version of Hub or Ironstream Integration Component (IIC) is present:
    1. If you are using a Splunk Forwarder with Hub/IIC, then stop the Splunk Forwarder with the command:
      <drive>:\Program Files\Precisely\Ironstream Hub\bin\splunk stop
To verify that the Forwarder started, use the command:
      <drive>:\Program Files\Precisely\Ironstream Hub\bin\splunk status
    2. Locate and note its install path for use in a later step.
    3. Uninstall the previous version of IIC. Existing configuration files will be left untouched by the uninstall and can be reused. For information to remove the previous version, see Uninstalling Ironstream Hub.
Note: Upgrade Hub is possible only for versions starting from 1.3.4 and higher. If you have installed the Hub version lower than 1.3.4, you need to uninstall it before installing the latest version.
  2. Copy the Ironstream Hub installation MSI to the server where it is to be installed.
  3. Double-click the MSI file to launch the Installer.
  4. The Installer allows you to specify the installation path of your choice. The default path is:
    <drive>:\Program Files\Precisely\Ironstream Hub\
Note: If you had a previous version of IIC installed and you want to continue using your existing configuration files without having to relocate them then, you will need to change the install path to the location of the previous install. The default path in previous versions of IIC was:
    <drive>:\Program Files\EView Technology\EView400i\
  5. After installation completes:
    • Go to the Windows Control Panel -> Firewall and ensure inbound network traffic is permitted on ports 80, 443, and 9850.
    • The Ironstream Hub Portal Service will not start on the initial installation by design. Review Post-Installation Actions section to configure your authentication requirements, and then start the Hub Portal and the Hub itself. You should be able to restart both Ironstream Hub services after an upgrade when this has previously been done.
    • The Ironstream IBM i Configuration Tool service will start automatically. The Ironstream IBM i Configuration Tool service provides the browser-based Configuration Tool for IBM i source configurations.
    • Update the ihubmainportal.json. For more information, see Switching Authentication Off or Configuring Authentication and SSO.
    • Restart the Ironstream Hub Service and the Ironstream Hub Portal Service. This is a web-browser-based user interface where Ironstream data pipelines are configured.

The IBM for i agent must be downloaded separately, it is not provided as a part of the Hub installation. Contact Support if you need assistance.
