How to configure the Match and Merge widget so users can perform custom actions on your repository data.

The Match and Merge widget allows users to perform customized actions on repository data. Configuring the widget consists of specifying user security and selecting the custom actions the user is able to trigger.

Configure a Match and Merge Widget

Before you configure a Match and Merge widget, make sure you have a thorough understanding of the data access permissions inherent in the available applications so you do not allow users to have access to data you do not want them to access. If you are unsure of the access permitted by the available applications, check with your System Administrator.

To configure a Match and Merge widget:

  1. Add a new widget to the EnterWorks dashboard.
  2. Select the Settings icon in the upper right of the new widget's activity bar. Note that a widget's activity bar will not be displayed unless the cursor is hovering over the top of the widget. A Configuration window will appear.

  3. Select Match and Merge from the Type dropdown menu on the far right of the Widget Configuration window. The Match and Merge widget configuration options will appear.
  4. Edit the Match and Merge widget configuration options as desired.
    • Title: The title of the widget. It is helpful if the title of the widget reflects the type of widget and its configured functions. For example if the widget is configured with deduplication scenarios, an appropriate title would be "Match and Merge Deduplication".

    • Select Application: Select the Match and Merge application you want the widget to display.

    • Use current logged in user: Data sources of type EnterworksSource use the EnterWorks API to access data in the EPIM database. If the Use current logged in user option is selected, the user's EnterWorks credentials will be passed to the API rather than the default system administrator system credentials.

    • Actions/Scenarios/Views: All of the selected Application's Actions, Scenarios, and Views will be displayed. Check the checkboxes of the Actions, Scenarios, and Views you want to be included in the widget. Note that different Actions, Scenarios, and Views may have different data access permissions. Only configure functions that enforce your user access policies. For more information, contact your System Administrator.

  5. Click Apply to save the changes to the widget and close the Configuration window.

  6. If you want your Dashboard configuration to remain after you switch tabs or log out, click the Save Layout button on the Dashboard's activity bar, otherwise your Dashboard will revert to its last saved configuration.
