How to use the Match and Merge widget.

The Match and Merge widget allows you to run customized applications on your data. This documentation will describe how to use the widget to run and monitor your applications, but since this is a customized widget, it will not describe what your applications actually do.

The Match and Merge widget is divided into vertical sections. Which sections appear on the widget depend on how the widget was configured by the administrator.

  • Specifications: The Specifications section contains two functions:

    • Specifications: Specifications define how your data will be handled. For example, a deduplication specification would contain rules to find and consolidate duplicate records. If you click the settings icon to the right of a specification's name, you will be taken to an administrative screen that allows you to edit the specification.     • Data Steward View: A Data Steward View allows you to use a specification's Stewardship UI to view, merge, and unmerge consolidated records. To open a Data Steward View, click the view icon to right of view's name. For more information about Stewardship UIs, see Fusion Administration Guide: Stewardship UI.

  • Scenarios: Scenarios perform a sequence of operations on your data, some of which may execute specifications. For example, a scenario might load repository records into a temporary table, remove all the uppercase letters in the records by running running a standardization specification, remove duplicate records by running a deduplication specification, then write the records back to the repository.

    To execute a scenario, click the execute button to the right of the scenario's name, in the Action column. A spinner will appear in the Progress column that indicates the scenario is running. When the specification has completed, a status message will appear in the Status column that indicates the success or failure of the scenario.
