Assure MIMIX

Product Level Security (PLS) is now required to be enabled for all LAKEVIEW and MIMIX instance libraries. However, after the first upgrade of the service pack, a “grace” mode is provided to allow configuration of your (PLS) settings, during which you can enable PLS to validate the changes and disable PLS if additional PLS configuration changes are required. As part of this change, the PLS setting for License Manager library (LAKEVIEW) and MIMIX instance libraries has been changed for *PUBLIC from *DSP to EXCLUDE (*EXCL).

Furthermore, the public authority of all objects in the installation library is set to *EXCLUDE by default. Authorization lists are also introduced to secure objects in the License Manager and MIMIX installation libraries. If the PLS settings are changed, entries in the Authorization lists are automatically adjusted so that users with PLS have the authority to use the objects in the product instance library

Product Level Security is a capability provided by License Manager that enables additional security to protect your License Manager and MIMIX environments and limit access to the installed Precisely products. When using Product Level Security, you must specify each user who is authorized to use both License Manager and Assure MIMIX. You can also specify the level of access for each user (*DSP, *OPR, *MGT, *ADM, or *EXCL).

For details, see “MIMIX product-level security” in the MIMIX Administrator Reference book and “Precisely-provided product-authority functions” in the Using License Manager book.
