Assure MIMIX version 10.0.34.00 includes all changes to earlier MIMIX 10.0 service packs, 9.0.37.00, and earlier levels of MIMIX version 9.0.

Prerequisites:

  • The minimum level required for the IBM i operating system is IBM i 7.3.

  • IBM i OS product 5770SS1, option 34 Digital Certificate Manager (DCM) must be installed.

  • Upgrades to Assure MIMIX version 10.0 require version 10.0 license keys and are supported from any MIMIX version 9.0 service pack (9.0.01.00 or higher).

  • Assure MIMIX portal application version 10.0.34.00 or higher is the minimum version required to manage Assure MIMIX 10.0.34.00.

  • To use secure ports (SETMMXPCY CMNMODE(*SECURE) or SETMMXPCY CMNMODE(*SECURE *UNSECURE)) with service pack 10.0.21.00 or later, 5770JV1 option 16 (Java SE 8 32 bit) or option 17 (Java SE 8 64 bit) or higher must be installed.

  • Assure MIMIX portal application version 10.0.34.00 or higher requires the Precisely Assure Unified Interface (Assure UI) version 10.0.34.00.

  • The Assure UI version 10.0.23.00 to 10.0.25.00 requires Java 11 or Java 17, while version 10.0.26.00 and higher supports Java 8, Java 11, or Java 17, depending on the installation and operational requirements:

    • The Assure MIMIX Installation Wizard for System i includes Java 11 JRE, which is used during installation processes and removed when installation is complete.

    • For operational use, the Assure UI requires that IBM Developer Kit for Java (5770JV1) *BASE option and one of the following to be installed on the systems running the Assure UI server:

      • Versions 10.0.23.00 to 10.0.25.00: Supports Java SE 17 (Option 20), or Java SE 11 (Option 19).

      • Version 10.0.26.00 and higher: Supports Java SE 17 (Option 20), Java SE 11 (Option 19), Java SE 8 (Option 17) 64-bit, or Java SE 8 (Option 16) 32-bit.
        Note: Java SE 11 is not available on IBM i 7.6. Only Java SE 8 and Java SE 17 are supported on IBM i 7.6.

    • If you use the Assure UI on a Windows platform, the Assure Unified Interface & Portal Application Installation Wizard for Windows includes Java 11 JRE and the JRE remains on the Windows server.

    • If you are using Assure UI version with a version earlier than 10.0.23.00, Java 8 is required.

  • The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) included in the Assure MIMIX Installation Wizard has a .dll with dependencies on C:\Windows\System32\vcruntime140.dll. The vcruntime140.dll must be present on the PC where the wizard will be used to allow the wizard to properly open and run. The file is part of the Microsoft Visual C++ software runtime library. If the file is missing, you can install or reinstall the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package from Microsoft's website. A web search can identify other means of obtaining the vcruntime140.dll.
