Table 1. Changes in this topic
Change type Description
Introduced in version 6.2 Introduced the option to enable XStream Out on new or existing Oracle servers by selecting the option and running Install Metabase.

Use this procedure whether you are configuring a new Oracle server or switching an existing server from LogMiner-based replication to XStream Out.

  1. Open the Server Properties dialog for the Oracle server.
  2. Enter information for each field on the Server Properties dialog.

Refer to Server properties dialog for Oracle for field information.

  3. Select the Enable XStream Out checkbox on the Server tab.

This option enables XStream Out as the capture method for this server. The setting is independent for each server — enabling it on one server does not affect other servers, including other PDB servers on the same system.

  4. Click OK.
  5. Run Install Metabase for this Oracle server.

Running Install Metabase sets up the XStream Out configuration automatically. No additional steps are required beyond running Install Metabase.

Note: If you are switching from LogMiner-based replication to XStream Out, you must run Install Metabase after enabling the option.
Important: If the installed metabase version does not support XStream Out, an error message is displayed. Ensure your metabase is updated before enabling this option.

Pluggable database (PDB) only: After running Install Metabase, confirm the following in CDB$ROOT:

  • A tablespace exists in CDB$ROOT for the XStream Out admin user.

  • A quota is granted to the XStream Out admin user on that tablespace.

  • The default tablespace for the XStream Out admin user is set in CDB$ROOT.
