  1. Enter a server name in the Name field.
  2. Select s3 from the DBMS type dropdown menu.
Tip: The GMT offset (minutes) indicates how many minutes your local time differs from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). For example, Boston is 300 minutes behind GMT. This information is for reference only.

  3. Click the Settings tab to add or modify parameters. For descriptions of each parameter, see the Server Properties dialog table.

  4. Optional: Click New to open the Remote File Server Properties dialog.

  5. Enter a unique remote file server name using only alphanumeric characters. This name will be used in the model.
Note: The following characters are not allowed in a server name: slash (/), backslash (\), colon (:), left caret (<), right caret (>), and spaces.
  6. Select AWS S3 from the dropdown list. The options available in the Remote File Server Properties window will change based on your selection.
  7. Select an Authentication method.
  8. Specify the staging properties, including the URL and encryption settings.
  9. Click Verify to test the remote file server connection. After a few seconds, a message will appear indicating whether the test was successful. If the test fails, review the error message, troubleshoot the issue, and try verifying again.
