Purpose: The VALIDATE command ensures that a license member is valid and that the license member can be used to successfully start your licensed products.

Syntax:

VALIDATE [license member name]
Comments:
  • If the license member name is omitted, then the member LICENSE will be validated.
  • Otherwise, the system will search for the specified member in the PARMLB concatenation.

Examples:

You have received a new license member from the Precisely Syncsort software. You created member NEWLICEN in a data set in the PARMLIB concatenation.

F DIF,VALIDATE NEWLICEN

The system will read member NEWLICEN and ensure that it matches what was delivered from Precisely.

Tip: If you encounter validation errors, verify that the license member name is correct and that the member exists in the PARMLIB concatenation.
